Keep your visitors

What do visitors look at when landing on various blogging sites as to whether these particular blogs hold credibility!

Comments. Social proof serves as a 'barometer' to new visitors as to whether your content is even worth the time it takes to read! Comments are sometimes extensively used by people who initially land on your site as a way for them to
judge what you have to offer! Popular blogs typically have many comments left which indicates an interest in the content and also a pretty good flow of traffic!
History. Blogging sites with a 'history' normally have archives that date back, which offer new visitors a library of reading material! This helps to show people your level of commitment while also making it easier for them to simply peruse your archives for something of interest rather than searching elsewhere! It's all about proving you're reliable in terms of continuing to supply readers with new content and also offering the convenience of finding what they need on one platform! Obviously when first starting out this 'history' will be hard to offer which is why patience and persistence are essential for anyone to become a successful blogger!

Content. Obviously the content found on blogging sites ultimately is what determines whether the platform can become successful at developing a loyal reader base! It is important to remember if your updates consistently prove to be of little use and/or interest to readers your ability to build a loyal following will be severely compromised! Much like branding serves to reinforce positive attributes your substandard updates will also serve as a 'brand' that people avoid! Even if your efforts improve you will still need to overcome this negative impression you've left! The moral of the story is quality rules and if you feel the need to 'rush' your updates just to offer quantity you'll likely pay a penalty.

What is it that people look at that will make your blog appear more credible to them? Well for starters many visitors quickly view the 3 things above when they initially land on many blogging sites! Readers often use 'social proof' and even the age of a site when judging how popular blogs may be when deciding to read further or if to even return later! Although some of these indicators may not always be accurate they can influence certain visitors! Ultimately however, your content consistency and quality will determine whether you become successful blogging!
